# Hybrid DeFi NFTs

WHAT IS A HYBRID NFT?

A hybrid NFT is inherently linked to a specific number of tokens, enabling seamless exchange between NFTs and tokens.

Future Invst stands as one of the pioneering generative PFP collections leveraging the **SPL404** standard. Following the minting of Future Invst, you have the option to retain them as NFTs or convert them into <mark style="color:blue;">$INV</mark> tokens. These <mark style="color:blue;">$INV</mark> tokens serve as the linchpin of the Future Invst reward ecosystem. Subsequently, you can choose to either hold onto the <mark style="color:blue;">$INV</mark> tokens or revert to a <mark style="color:blue;">**Future Invst NFT**</mark>. Reverting to an NFT involves the burning of a portion of tokens and reactivating all your traits, resulting in a new <mark style="color:blue;">**Future Invst NFT**</mark>. This process of 'carryover' offers the opportunity to acquire rarer traits, allowing for continuous engagement akin to an infinite loot box and introducing an entertaining gamification layer to NFTs.

The **SPL 404** standard addresses several growth obstacles observed in recent cycles, including:

* Liquidity concerns
* Distribution and expansion of intellectual property
